Knighter Confirmed To Race At Weston
RHL Activities is proud to announce that David Knight will complete this year's star rider line-up at the Weston Beach Race, which takes place next weekend on the 11th and 12th of October.
'Knighter' will once again step up to the Weston-super-Mare challenge, against some of the finest riders in the world in both the solo and quad races, along with the hundreds of amateur competitors taking part. The recently crowned GNCC champion and two times World Enduro Champion is looking forward to returning to the UK from America to contest this year's event, at which he has won on four previous occasions.
Knight will be up against some stiff competition including 10 times world champion, Stefan Everts along with his protégé, the recently crowned MX2 World Champion, Tyla Rattray and factory Honda rider, Marc de Reuver. It's certain that the race will be an exciting one, as the 3.5-mile course is attacked by not only world championship race professionals, but a further 1000 competitors that will be thundering down the seafront, gunning for glory.
Knight is undeniably the best all-around rider of his time and has dominated the off-road scene for many years. The 30-year-old Manxman started out as a trials rider in the Isle of Man and was soon winning everything he entered before moving over to Britain, where his success continued. He switched to Enduro racing where his talent and exceptional riding ability was realised, as he began his world domination riding factory machinery for both Yamaha and KTM. As one of the most competitive racers on the planet, Knight then focused on extreme events, which established him as one of the best Enduro riders worldwide. He went on to take honours in the Grand National Cross Country and the AMA Endurocross series last year, followed by winning the overall GNCC title for a second time, less than one week ago.
Knight is no stranger to the Weston Beach Race and will be looking to continue his 2008 success with no less than a win at the race, which is expected to be a tough one with a line-up of such outstanding talent. The KTM pilot is certainly known for his ability on any sort of terrain, and is a likely top contender for this year's event in both of the classes he's entered. The 2008 Weston Beach Race also includes many exciting off-track activities including a charity 'Beach For Life' fun run in aid of Cancer Research, stunt displays, a chance to win a quad, as well as many different types of trade stands - all aimed at a fun family weekend out.
