More Stars To Race At Weston

Although the Weston Beach Race is renowned for entries from some of the World's finest Motocross racers, this year will once again see road racer Chris Walker and Enduro rider Paul Edmondson take on the challenge on the 11th and 12th October.

Walker, who started this season racing for Kawasaki in the World Supersport series, is currently contesting the World Superbike Championship for VK Vent Axia Honda. The 36-year-old has contested the Weston race on numerous occasions previously, and crossed the line in 23rd place last year.

Don't be surprised to see the hard-faced 'Stalker' nearing the front of the pack, as like many leading road race riders, he has a strong background in off-road riding. The Honda-pilot has plenty of beach race experience, and he, like many, will be hungry for victory in the 3-hour race.

Four-times World Enduro Champion Edmondson is also looking forward to racing at Weston again. Following a two-year absence from the WEC scene, 'Fast Eddy' successfully took part in one of this year's World Championship events with the Relentless Suzuki Squad.

Edmondson is no stranger to difficult challenges like Weston, and he is certainly not to be doubted when competing in the demanding race against the likes of Stefan Everts and Tyla Rattray.

Edmondson said: " I really enjoy the Weston Beach Race, and I've competed in it on and off since about 1985. It's one of those races where you never know what might happen, so everything has to be absolutely perfect. In the last few years I've had some bad luck, so I'm hoping to turn that around and I'll be aiming for top positions, if not a win this year. I'm sure that riders such as Everts and Rattray won't be there for a Sunday afternoon ride, so although the competition will be tough, we'll be out there looking for a really good run."
