Everts and Rattray Racing At Weston

RHL Activities is excited to confirm that motocross legend and 10 times World Champion Stefan Everts will be racing along with factory KTM rider Tyla Rattray at this year's Weston Beach Race on the 11th and 12th October.
Everts, a motocross super-star and winner of a mammoth 101 Grand Prix's, is looking forward to competing at this year's beach race event aboard his KTM 450 SX-F. The 35-year-old Belgian is known as a sand-track expert and spectacularly finished his competitive career in the 2006 season by winning 14 out of the 15 World Championship events.
Everts was one of the only racers to win world titles in the 125cc, 250cc and 500cc class. He is also the only rider to become a World motocross Champion on all four Japanese manufacturers' machines (Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda and Yamaha). The ex-racer is now the factory Red Bull KTM World Championship squad Race Director and the five times Belgian Sportsman of the year still regularly rides with his younger protégés.
Factory MX2 World Championship rider, Rattray, is also looking forward to racing at this year's event. The 23-year-old currently leads the Grand Prix title stakes by 20 points and is excited to have the opportunity to try his hand around the demanding Weston Beach Race course.
Everts and Rattray are preparing special machines for the tough three-hour stint on Weston-super-Mare's coastline and they will both be looking to take victory at the famous race.
Stefan Everts:
"I'm really looking forward to riding at Weston because it's so different from a normal motocross race. It's a very good event and it's at the end of the season so we can go out and enjoy ourselves. It's unusual as there's a massive amount of starters and it's three hours long so lots can happen. The most important thing is to be prepared and as a rider there's things to take into account such as fuelling the bike, making sure you've eaten well and getting a good start. We're building a slightly modified KTM 450cc machine to deal with the conditions and this will be a very fun but incredibly tough challenge. There are some talented riders competing and it will be difficult to win - I'm certainly not as fit as I used to be that's for sure. I just love riding my bike and having a good time so I'm really pleased to have been invited to compete in this famous race."
Director of RHL Activities Gareth Hockey:
"It's superb that we can attract the likes of Stefan and Tyla to compete at the Weston Beach Race. These are world-renowned riders and it will be a real spectacle to see them racing with some of the most passionate motocross fans and competitors in the UK. It will be very interesting to see who will be successful this year and it's an honour to have part of the factory KTM squad riding at this very special, family orientated event."
Everts has previously raced and won at Weston, although his last entry only a few years ago ended prematurely with an unexpected breakdown. RHL Activities is looking forward to an exciting line-up of world-class riders competing against passionate fans of the sport this year, which will provide some very exciting entertainment from some of the best racers on the planet.
