RHL Activities Announces Beach for Life Charity Run at Weston

RHL Activities would like to announce a charity 'Beach For Life' fun run in aid of Cancer Research at this year's Weston Beach Race, which is due to be held on the 11th and 12th October.

The charity race is designed to encourage family members to get involved with the annual beach event, and will be held at 3.30pm on the Saturday of the race weekend on the Weston-super-Mare shoreline. Competitors will have to tackle parts of the challenging dune course and all entrants who complete the race will receive a special goody bag.

This is an ideal opportunity for the 2,000 riders along with their mechanics and helpers to do something for this incredibly great cause. A massive two million people in the UK are suffering from Cancer, which often has devastating effects on families and children. The Beach For Life race is a simple way to raise money and offers the chance for anyone, particularly those already at the event, to give something back to help improve the lives of those touched by this terrible disease.

Cancer Research UK raises money to enable world-class research on the often-fatal disease to improve understanding in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of different kinds of cancer. The charity, which has the poignant vision statement "Together we will beat cancer," uses its findings to improve the lives of cancer patients and work in partnership with others to achieve the greatest impact in the global fight against cancer.

The closing date to register online the 26th September and any person interested in taking part are being urged to sign up soon to ensure their place in the charity event. Anyone who misses this deadline can enter on Friday or Saturday morning of the beach race weekend.

Director of RHL Activities Gareth Hockey said: "For me putting together the Beach For Life race is very fitting, as I know many people who have been touched by Cancer at some point in their lives. It also returns the Weston Beach Race back to its roots, where raising money for charity was its main objective as well as giving the chance for non-bike riders to get involved. We want to expand the interest in the Weston Beach Race beyond bike fans and families, and raising money for Cancer Research is an excellent opportunity for anyone to join in the fun during the weekend."

The entry fee for this exciting 'Beach For Life' race is just £15 and those wishing to take part for this excellent cause can enter by filling out an online application form. A welcome pack will be sent out to each runner, who will line up to take part in this incredibly special event being held on Weston-super-Mare's famous coastline.
